Yes, livestock tagging and registration are mandatory in Lithuania. Cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs are tagged with ear tags, horses – with microchips. For cattle, ear tags must be attached within 7 days of birth and strictly before the animal leaves its birth farm. If you have questions about a specific situation – contact us, and we will advise you.
Usually 1–3 working days from submitting the order. In urgent cases, contact us directly by phone at +370 661 93 469 – we have coordinated urgent orders many times.
A primary tag is used for newborn cattle, ordered as a pair (two identical tags for both ears) with an official animal identification number. A reproduced tag is a replacement tag when the original tag is lost or becomes unreadable; it is reproduced based on the number of an already registered animal. Both perform the same identification function, differing only in purpose and ordering procedure.
In that case, the animal must be re-identified. Call us – we will help find archival data and correctly complete everything according to SFVS (VMVT) requirements.
Farm registration number, animal’s date of birth, and – in the case of replacement tags – the existing registration number. We verify the data before processing the order.
We tag cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs with ear tags, horses – with microchips.
We use “Allflex” ear tags – made of flexible and strong plastic, with indelible laser markings, a sharp metal piercing needle; after application, they rotate around their axis and remain easily readable.
